Well welcome to the start of my Resistance 2 blog and well the project is now complete so bellow is how we got from start to finish.

Well at first our group fillipa, eliott, jamie and myself started brain storming, the first idea that we came up with an idea of a mocumentary with the story being the life of a banker in the time of the economic crisis and how the credit crunch ruined his life and how he attempts to regain the life he had before. we all like this idea but we felt as a group that this was a little too ambitious for us and  our time constraints. But at this time Phil mentiond the idea of doing a viral video for the game resistance 2. we were all unanimous and change our idea to working on the resistance project.

Well once we had changed to the resistance 2 brief we came up with the idea of doing a video on the day in a life of a chimera (chimera being the alien creatures in the game). In the story of Resistance 2 the chimera have already concurred Brittan and are on there way to try taking over America. So we though that we would show how the Chimera was fed up and annoyed with the the life of the average person with all the daily routine and that he was going to leave join the army on to a new life in America.

Bellow is  our script for the idea that we used:

We had to make a few compromises in the brief due to difficulty getting access to a shop that would allow us to film, but Elliot managed to get us access to B&Q where we were able to film which turned out to be some great footage.

For the filming we used a helmet cam which Elliot and Fillipa made.

For the first scene we were shooting we need posters advertising the Chimera army for him too see so i made some posters using adobe illustrator in a Russian ww2 propoganda style. these posters would be put up in the alley that we were filming in.

For the filming Eliott was our actor/ camera man, we spray painted some gloves silver to look more like a chimera as the gloves had a good texture that look more alien like. whilst we filmed we monitored what was being seen in the camera using a long firewire cable and my lapto where we used imovie to capture the footage.

I dare not forget the fact that eliott and fillipa made the most amazing clapper board in all the land i bet u never seen a clapper board hold such beauty.

Well bellow is a video that we took throught the filming that I edited using final cut pro. this was my first encounter using this program or any video editing software other than imovie, but thanks to the help and teaching from jack collins i have now got a better understanding of the program i hope to learn more.

So once we had done all the filming we all met up at eliott’s house and eddited it all together using final cut. and finaly placing the 3D model of the chimera on to the mirror in the bathroom scene. So here is the final version of the video that is the day in a life of a chimera.

Over all i think we all worked well as a team and produced a good video. we feel that we may have missed the mark somewhat and that it may be hard to understand from a strangers point of view. But our organisation was good and fell happy that as a team we did verry well, and all of us have learned lots from working on this project and maybe next time we shall test our video on people and see what they feel as we are too close to the project to fully apreciate how some one will react or how easy the concept is to grasp.
